Navigating the UAE property market as an expat or investor can be complex. It takes more than information, it takes independent guidance, deep local insight, and access to the right people at the right time.

That’s why I founded BME Project Management Services (Blom Middle East): not as a brokerage or one-size-fits-all agency, but as an independent advisory platform.

 

I draw on my own years of successful and unsuccessful real estate investments in Dubai and activate a trusted ecosystem of legal, financial, and real estate professionals, selecting partners based on your specific needs.

Meet Alexander Blom

Founder, BME Project Management Services

Dubai has been both my home and professional base since 2008. It has been fascinating to witness the city’s remarkable evolution from the pre-Burj Khalifa era to today’s globally connected metropolis. What started as a career move gradually became a deeply rooted personal and professional life in the Emirates. Along the way, I made several personal real estate investments across Dubai, including off-plan properties in Dubai Hills, Canal Front, Dubai Islands, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), and Sobha Hartland. Each project brought its own momentum, excitement, and learning curve, shaping a practical understanding of the market from the inside out. With a Master’s degree in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam, my professional journey began in insurance at Marsh in the Netherlands in 1998. The move to Dubai followed to head up a specialty practice. Leadership roles at Marsh, AIG, Howden, and Viva Insurance strengthened my expertise in risk underwriting and operating in complex, cross-border environments. In 2024, I shifted my focus fully to real estate and business advisory with the launch of BME Project Management Services (Blom Middle East). Through this platform, I support individuals and companies in accessing and navigating the UAE market, with a focus on real estate, relocation, and strategic partnerships. My approach is personal, pragmatic, and built on trust. I leverage nearly two decades of local experience and a strong network to deliver tailored solutions that save time, reduce complexity, and create long-term value. I’m proud to collaborate with the likes of Driven Properties, Zero Tax Property, and MSV Estates, as well as respected legal and operational partners such as Davidson & Co, Fichte & Co Legal, and Aligned Services. When it comes to investing in Dubai real estate, whether personally or on behalf of clients, four simple but proven principles guide every decision: scarcity, quality, competitive pricing, and amenities. These fundamentals have shaped successful off-plan investments and continue to underpin my advisory work today. On LinkedIn, Instagram, and Substack, I share insights, opportunities, and reflections, from investment strategies to the human side of relocating to and living in the UAE. No hype, just grounded advice and real stories from someone who has built a life and business here and continues to grow. Outside of work, I enjoy golf, cooking, reading, kundalini yoga, boxing and swimming in open water. The occasional ice bath adds a refreshing challenge. One of my favourite spots in Dubai to connect with friends or business associates is the Keyani Wellness Centre, a calm space with nourishing food and an atmosphere that invites meaningful conversation.
